Cycles

This is your reminder
That sometimes, even after you shed your petals
You propagate the ground beneath you with more flowers
Remember to be mindful of where they fall

I hope they fall gently
To be plucked by the fingers of a stranger can be painful

If that does happen
Let the wind and bees carry your pollen
And the earth deeply ground your roots

When it rains
soak up the water like a sponge and drink
If it pours
and you think you’re drowning
Your friend the sun will return soon
Please remember you need that water
It’s important so that you don’t dry out

One day soon, you’ll see
What it means to be reborn a beautiful flower
When the balm of the breeze
brings the scent of your bloom
And your soft, satin petals are admired by those who care enough to look
